About VA Pay IQ

VA Pay IQ is an independent, free educational calculator platform for veterans, military retirees, and their families. Its aim is simple: make VA disability and military retirement numbers easier to understand, with the working shown.

Phase 1 provides three tools: a VA disability pay calculator, a combined rating calculator, and a bilateral factor calculator. Later phases — dependent comparisons, rating scenarios, back-pay estimation, military retirement, CRDP/CRSC, and an integrated dashboard — are planned, not yet built, and are never presented as live services before they exist.

VA Pay IQ is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs or the Department of Defense. It does not approve claims, change ratings, determine medical eligibility, guarantee back pay, approve CRSC, or replace an official VA or DFAS determination. It does not offer paid claims representation.

Accuracy approach: pay figures come only from published VA tables; rating math follows 38 CFR 4.25 and 4.26; calculations are deterministic functions with automated tests (see the site's test suite). A future rate year is not published until VA.gov publishes it and every figure is checked against that publication.
